How to measure foot length:
  • Stand with your heel up against a wall and place a tape-measure under your feet.
  • Check your longest toe to your heel on the foot length measured in millimeters.
  • When your size is between two sizes, choose the smallest size because Birkenstock usually fits slightly larger.

Choose the correct fit by reading the instructions below:

normal

The coloured symbol indicates that the footbed is made for the normal foot. When you wear shoes that are made for normal feet, this is the right width for you.

This is the normal width in the Netherlands.
Birkenstock Germany calls this symbol schmall/stretta

wide

The non-coloured symbol indicates that the footbed is made for the broad foot. When you wear shoes that are made for broad feet, this is the right width for you.

A large amount of product is available in two widths; make sure you select the right width. You can find the image on the inner sole of your Birkenstock sandal.

Beware: On the box you will find the German widths. The feet of Dutch people tend to be somewhat smaller than those of Germans. This is the reason that the coloured symbol is indicated as ‘normal’ in the Netherlands. On the box you will find the indication ‘schmall’ because this is the German size.

Payment method & Shipping

  • The Birkenstock Shop has the following payment options;
     

    iDEAL

    If you choose this method of payment you will be automatically forwarded to your own bank. You pay in your own familiar online banking. If you have internet banking you can use iDEAL, without you having to sign up for something. This payment is only possible for orders within the Netherlands. This method is free. 




    Creditcard (Mastercard and Visa) (becomes active shortly)

    You can enter your credit card information safely on our secure website. We will work together with your credit card issuer to ensure proper handling of your payment. This payment method is free. 

    Transfer by bank

    Once you have chosen to pay by bank transfer, you will receive an pop-up with the payment details which also will be sent to your e-mail. Your order will be sent once the transfer is received by us. This method is free.

     

    Bankcontact/ Mister Cash

    This payment method is especially for our Belgian customers. This method allows you to pay securely electronically. This method is free. 

       

     

What if something goes wrong?

You can choose during the ordering process from one of the above payment options. Once you have chosen the method of payment at the end of your order, you enter the secure environment of Mollie payments to complete the payment. After completing the payment you will receive a confirmation email directly from us. All prices include VAT.
If you have problems with the payment  you can login in "my account" and finish the payment. You can still choose all payment methods.

  • Shipping:

Home delivery with KDZ  for express deliveries of parcels. You will receive an email with your airway bill number wich you can use to track & trace on their site (www.kdz.com). They deliver Monday till Friday from 8:00 to 18:00. The first time you are not at home, they leave a note in the mailbox with a contact request to make a new appointment.

DPD Home delivery (Wadden islands excluded)
DPD delivers from Monday till Saturday in the Netherlands (Wadden islands excluded). On the morning of delivery you will receive a message stating the delivery time with a 2 hour accuracy and the track & trace information. If not at home the package will be taken to the nearest service point of DPD. 
 
DPD Service/Pick-up point delivery (Wadden islands excluded)
Your package will be delivered at the selected service/pick-up point in the Netherlands (Wadden islands excluded) and Belgium. On the morning of delivery you will receive a message with the track & trace information. Please bring your ID when picking up your package.
 
Delivery within the Netherlands and Belgium is free and return deliveries can be sent with Kiala.
We have a delivery period of 1-3 days for orders that are directly paid for. Exceptions are the weekends as KDZ only delivers on weekdays; you will then have to take into account a delivery time of 2-3 days. 
When payment is done by bank transfer the delivery period depends on the moment payment is received.
